Description

Fujitsu Component Launches Bluetooth® Smart Beacon

Big attention has been given to low-power beacons as front-end key device of Internet of Things (IoT), which is consisted of devices and sensors connected to networks.

FUJITSU Component Wireless Module FWM8BLZ02 is a Bluetooth Smart Beacon that conforms to Bluetooth Smart Technology. It carries common BROADCAST MODE, which send advertising data one way to central equipment, and PERIPHERAL MODE, which transmit and receive data bi-directionally with central equipment.

The new beacon is able to operate for more than 2 years with coin-cell battery CR2450 at 1 second advertise interval on broadcast mode. Meanwhile, peripheral mode enables easy settings such as transmission power, device name, from smart phones or other central equipment by using our unique command. Security function by pass word works during the setting.

Recovery function is also provided in case of the situation user needs to reset the settings. Module with acceleration, temperature and other sensors will be available upon customer requests.

Bluetooth qualification (QDID), Radio Act (in Japan) have been obtained and FCC,IC, CE are on final stage of approval.

The beacon is good for guide system at stations, airports, exhibition halls. It is also used for various applications using positional information like lost warning, nursing care.
